This itinerary gives you a great overview of Tanzania’s incredible wildlife and natural beauty in just three days. Of course, there are many other parks and reserves you could visit in Tanzania, depending on your interests and the length of your stay. Your safari guide will work with you to create an itinerary that meets your specific needs and interests.
Day by Day
A 3-day safari that includes both the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania can offer a fantastic wildlife and nature experience.
Day 1: Arusha to Serengeti National Park
- Morning: Depart from Arusha to Serengeti National Park. The drive may take several hours, so be prepared for a long but scenic journey.
- Afternoon: Arrive at the Serengeti and start your first game drive. The Serengeti is known for its vast plains and diverse wildlife, including the famous Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros).
- Evening: Check into your accommodation, which could be a Seronera Public campsite in the Serengeti. Enjoy dinner and rest for the night.
- Lunch; Dinner
Day 2: Full Day in the Serengeti
- Morning: Early morning game drive when animals are most active. This is an excellent time to spot predators and witness the sunrise over the Serengeti.
- Afternoon: Return to your accommodation for lunch and some relaxation.
- Late Afternoon: Head out for another game drive to explore different areas of the Serengeti and witness the diverse ecosystems.
- Evening: Drive to Ngorongoro for Dinner and overnight stay at Simba A public campsite, the camp located at the crater rim overlooking down the crater.
- Breakfast; Lunch, and Dinner
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Tour to Arusha
- Rise and shine! After breakfast at your campsite, you drive down into the crater. Inside the world’s largest caldera, you will see a diversity of wildlife ranging from black rhinos, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, lions and leopards to elephants and mountain reedbucks in the forests on the slopes. You might also see buffaloes, spotted hyenas, rare wild dogs and some of the more than 500 bird species of the area. After an intensive game drive and a picnic lunch, you will leave the caldera in the afternoon and travel back to Arusha where you will arrive in the early evening.

Passenger Information
- Passengers should bring only duffle bags and safaris, not suitcases.
- All the passengers must have an identification card or passport with them for internal flights.
- Baggage on domestic flights is strictly limited to 15 kg per person (including hand luggage). Any excess baggage will be charged by the airline at check-in.
- Passengers arriving to Tanzania may be asked to present a valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate
- Tourist Visa will be obtained at the entry points, but it is advisable to double check before travelling to Tanzania.
